- Thoroughly sorting waste to prevent mixing with industrial waste containing mercury

NIHON PHARMACEUTICAL CO., LTD. is taking the following measures to reduce industrial waste.
- Promoting the reduction, reuse, and recycling of waste
- Proactively working to recycle waste plastics and reducing the amount of industrial waste generated
- Started material recycling, in addition to reducing CO₂ through the use of RPF*1
- When chemical substances or other industrial waste are generated, requesting the waste disposal contractor to dispose of them properly according to the SDS.*2
- Optimizing purchasing and inventory to reduce waste
- *1 RPF (Refuse Paper and Plastic Fuel) has a higher heat value per unit weight than coal, and costs 1/4 to 1/3 as much as coal. As a fuel, it gives off almost no chlorine gas or dioxins, and also contributes to CO₂ reduction, because it is low in impurities.
- *2 SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a document that contains information on the properties and handling of chemical substances, based on the “Act on the Assessment of Releases of Specified Chemical Substances in the Environment and the Promotion of Management Improvement” (PRTR Law).
