- Reducing the amount of industrial water used at wastewater treatment facilities
- Examining and determining the optimal frequency of sedimentation tank cleaning and optimizing the frequency of industrial water use based on examination results
- Reducing environmental impact by only discharging treated water that has been purified in the biological treatment facility as sewage
- Having separated and dehydrated sludge fermented by a specialist contractor and using it as fertilizer for vegetables, etc.

NIHON PHARMACEUTICAL CO., LTD. is taking the following measures to save water and improve water quality.
- Installing flow meters to better monitor water usage and wastewater volume within factories
- Reducing water usage by optimizing the regeneration of outdoor desalination ion exchange towers and the timing of the thermal sterilization of activated carbon filtration
- Reducing water usage by changing manufacturing processes (sterilization process, bottle washing process, etc.)
- Recovering clean wastewater from manufacturing processes and reusing it as replenishment water for cooling towers, etc.
- Sorting waste liquids before disposal so that water quality is not affected
